Es kann in drei Unterkategorien unterteilt werden: Orthophthals\u00e4ure (ORTO), Dicyclopentadien (DCPD) und Isophthals\u00e4ure (ISO): Erstere wird \u00fcblicherweise f\u00fcr fast alle Glasfaserbereiche verwendet; DCPD hat im Allgemeinen eine etwas geringere mechanische Festigkeit als Orthophthals\u00e4ure, benetzt aber die Verst\u00e4rkungsfasern besser und enth\u00e4lt weniger Styrol; Isophthals\u00e4ure hingegen hat bessere mechanische, thermische und wasser- und chemikalienbest\u00e4ndige Eigenschaften als Orthophthals\u00e4ure und DCPD.
