Son b\u00e1sicamente materiales inertes (polvos o granulados) de diversa procedencia, que se a\u00f1aden a las resinas para modificar sus caracter\u00edsticas (como la viscosidad) sin alterar su reacci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica. La adici\u00f3n de espesantes a la resina conduce en consecuencia a un aumento del volumen del compuesto, seguido a su vez por una reducci\u00f3n del porcentaje de resina en la masa.
