Est\u00e1 formado por l\u00e1minas de aluminio pegadas en capas que se expanden para formar una estructura hexagonal. A veces puede estar microperforado para conectar todas las celdas entre s\u00ed. Este tipo de panal se utiliza como n\u00facleo en muchos sectores y se emplea para todos los productos que necesitan alcanzar una relaci\u00f3n \u00f3ptima entre rigidez y peso. En el sector del autom\u00f3vil, se utiliza como amortiguador, en compresi\u00f3n, ya que es capaz de absorber la mayor parte de la energ\u00eda cin\u00e9tica.
