Este art\u00edculo se extruye esencialmente en perfiles, que tienen una forma trapezoidal o una secci\u00f3n contorneada, y est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado para fortalecer y endurecer productos moldeados y fabricaciones compuestas. Insensible a los agentes atmosf\u00e9ricos ya las sales de cloro, excelente aislamiento t\u00e9rmico, tiene baja absorci\u00f3n de agua y reduce significativamente la transmisi\u00f3n de vapor de agua. Estas y otras caracter\u00edsticas lo hacen particularmente \u00fatil en aplicaciones de la industria mar\u00edtima, para la producci\u00f3n de estructuras centrales en cascos.
