Elle peut \u00eatre divis\u00e9e en trois sous-cat\u00e9gories : orthophtalique (ORTO), dicyclopentadi\u00e8ne (DCPD) et isophtalique (ISO) : la premi\u00e8re est couramment utilis\u00e9e dans presque tous les secteurs de la fibre de verre ; la DCPD pr\u00e9sente g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement des r\u00e9sistances m\u00e9caniques l\u00e9g\u00e8rement inf\u00e9rieures \u00e0 celles de l&rsquo;orthophtalique, mais mouille mieux les fibres de renforcement et contient moins de styr\u00e8ne ; en revanche, la r\u00e9sine isophtalique pr\u00e9sente des caract\u00e9ristiques m\u00e9caniques, thermiques et de r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l&rsquo;eau et aux produits chimiques sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 celles de l&rsquo;orthophtalique et de la DCPD.
