Wrapping
Wrapping technology allows components to be manufactured by layering pre-impregnated reinforcements onto a cylindrical or conical mandrel. The various reinforcement layers are optimally compacted in a rigid male mould by means of a roll in table press that has the task of eliminating any air bubbles present between the skins. During this phase the table can be heated in order to promote adhesion. The position, order and type of the various layers are applied are defined in such a way as to respect the final specifications that the component must have. Among the advantages of wrapping are reduced costs and excellent mechanical properties, it does not allow great possibilities in the choice of shapes and gemotries of the finished product.
