Glass fiber
Glass fibres are used for the production of composite materials, i.e. advanced low-cost structural materials, in which several components are integrated with each other to produce a finished component with superior physical, mechanical, chemical and aesthetic characteristics. Widely used in the production of structural composites in the industrial, nautical and automotive fields, associated with different matrices, for example polyamide or epoxy, but in any case synthetic resins. Glass cloth, glass fibre, fibreglass or woven glass are all names used to describe the glass fibre reinforcement implemented in many of today’s advanced composites.
