PVC
PVC is closed cell core material with a rigid foam shape, which has a high
strength / weight ratio. The foam is formed by crosslinked PVC cells and its surface can be plate, punctured or engraved in order to ensure the best resin’s flow in infusion processes. Its structure allows to obtain a minimum resin absorption ensuring a remarkable reduction of laminate’s final weight, however, increasing its rigidity and mechanical characteristics too. PVC’s compatibility with the most commercially available resins, makes it adaptable to a wide range of molding processes (infusion, lamination, compression molding). Used as core material in high performance sandwich structures, it is able to ensure a high durability over time and an excellent chemical as well as mechanical resistance.
