PE
Closed-cell PE (polyethylene) foam is a very flexible, lightweight and strong core material. It is essentially extruded in profiles, having either a trapezoidal shape or a shaped section, and is designed to reinforce and stiffen moulded products and composite goods. Insensitive to weathering and chlorine salts, it has excellent thermal insulation, low water absorption and greatly reduces water vapour transmission. These and other characteristics make it particularly useful in maritime industry applications, for the production of core structures in hulls. Also supplied in modules, it is used for the creation of safety cells and shock absorber components due to its high shock absorption capacity.
